CONSERVATION LEGACY SOCIETY

The Conservation Legacy Society is for individuals and families who make provisions for the Cinnabar Foundation in their estate planning. The Foundation pursues two financial objectives:
  1. To achieve at least a five percent (5%) growth in assets through fundraising and retained earnings. While returns on investments are expected to vary from year-to-year, the assets of the Foundation are, and will continue to be, protected by a prudent investment strategy.
  2. To invest in qualified organizations through a diverse and balanced portfolio of conservation programs, ensuring that our competitive grants are well leveraged through 1:1 matching requirements. Through monitoring, field visits and active engagement in the issues, we fine-tune Foundation priorities to meet shifting needs and opportunities across the state.

Assets in the Foundation's permanent conservation fund currently exceed $10.4 million. Please consider joining with us by becoming a Conservation Legacy Society donor as part of your income and estate tax planning. Your gift, with certain limitations, will be tax-deductible from federal and, perhaps, state income tax, depending upon where you reside.

A gift in the form of a bequest also will reduce your taxable estate on death. Of course, you should consult your tax advisor regarding applicable tax laws, their relation to your tax situation, and any tax benefits you might receive.
