LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

Picture
I gotta crow!

It was a match made in heaven — or at least in Cinnabar Basin, the bit of real estate that gave our Foundation its name — when the Cinnabar Foundation hired long-time conservationist Gary Wolfe as our new executive director.

Gary’s experience in the world of conservation management runs wide and deep. Over 40 years, he has established relationships with many of our conservation partners through his work as executive director of Vital Ground and, prior to that, as president and CEO of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and founder and leader of a public-private project addressing chronic wasting disease.

Gary’s insight and experience as a long-time Cinnabar Foundation grantee and 2000 Len and Sandy Sargent Stewardship awardee will help the Foundation better serve our conservation partners, allowing us all to focus on the work and possibilities that lie before us.

The board of directors is delighted to have Gary Wolfe at the helm.

                                                          ———————————--

To top off this good news, Jim Posewitz — the Foundation’s co-founder, first executive director, long-time board member, and now director emeritus — has been honored with the National Wildlife Federation’s prestigious Conservationist of the Year Award for his lifetime of devotion to the cause. In making the announcement, NWF call “Poz” a gifted historian who “tirelessly advocates on behalf of sportsmen for the importance of preserving and protecting wildlife and wild places.”

We couldn’t have said it better, and we couldn’t be prouder. Congratulations, Jim!

ER-ER-A-ROO!
